As promised in our State of Play we dropped earlier this year, we’ve got the new dates and locations for the next Continental and Regionals. The full overview of premier play isn’t quite ready, but we wanted to get you dates for the start of 2027 as early as possible so you can begin planning appropriately. 

With that said, let’s jump right into the events for the first release of 2027: Set 6, Legacy.

Riftbound Regionals

These are what you know and love as RQ’s, but we’re streamlining the naming! 

If you’re just joining us, here’s a recap on what Regionals are all about:

  1. Regionals are three-day-events with two different badge types, Competitor and Attendee.
  2. Competitor Badge holders can enter the main event running on Day 2 and Day 3, to battle it out for Foil Plated Legends as well as other top-cut goodies including a Continental invite.
  3. Attendee Badge holders can participate in side events, catch merch drops, and community activities to entertain you even if you aren’t participating in the main event. 

Riftbound Continentals

Our first continental will bring us to Dallas, Texas in the heart of the United States. As a reminder, Riftbound Continentals will be the spiritual successor to the Regional Championships we’re holding this year, but they’re different in a few important ways:

  1. Rather than occurring at the end of the year, we will hold Continentals throughout the year with a Continental tied to each set and hosted in a city, rotating around the world.
  2. The Continental tournaments are three-days, with day one being an open entry qualifier for those who don’t yet have their invite to the main event which begins on Saturday. This means everyone has an opportunity to compete in the main event at the Continental.
  3. For those who don’t play in the main event, there will still be lots of side events as well as chances to meet creators and members of the Riftbound team throughout the weekends.

As we get closer to the events themselves, keep an eye on our official channels to get updates on the full schedule and details of each event.
