Riftbound World Showcase

We’re announcing the format and prizing for the Riftbound World Showcase.
Organized Play

Riftbound had an explosive first year, and we’re excited to conclude the inaugural competitive season in style with the World Showcase happening January 22-23, 2027, in Shanghai, China. The world’s best Riftbounders will battle it out for the glory of becoming the first Riftbound World Champion.

Riftbound’s next set, Legacy, doesn’t release until January 29, one week after the event—but to push competitors to their limits and delight viewers, World Showcase competitors will get to play with the set.

Competitors in the event will get early access to the complete Legacy card list two weeks before the event (which will be before previews are completed for the community). Additionally, competitors will have to register and compete with three separate constructed decks, which must be built without overlapping Domains.

Deckbuilding

Competitors will get early access to the Legacy card list. They’ll have to build three decks (Deck A, Deck B, Deck C) with the following requirements:

  • No overlapping Domains between the three decks.
  • One deck must be designated during registration as their “Playoff Deck.”
    • They will use the designated deck in the Top 4.

Pairings

At the World Showcase, competitors will play 9 rounds of Swiss matches before reaching the top 4. In Swiss matches, competitors will use Deck A for rounds 1-3, Deck B for rounds 4-6, and Deck C for rounds 7-9.

While using Deck A in the first rounds, competitors will not be matched against the same opponent in multiple games. Once competitors transition to playing Deck B or Deck C in later rounds, they may be matched against an opponent they have already played.
